Content Writer (Local SEO Focus)
About this role
You'll write the content that helps our clients rank on Google and turn visitors into customers. Blog posts about local topics, service pages that explain what businesses do, and landing pages for specific cities and neighborhoods. Everything in simple, clear English that real people actually want to read.
What you'll do
- Write blog posts (800–1,500 words) optimized for local search keywords
- Create and improve service pages that clearly explain what the business does
- Write local landing pages for businesses serving multiple cities or neighborhoods
- Write Google Business Profile posts, descriptions, and Q&A answers
- Research local topics and find angles that will attract readers and links
- Edit and proofread content from other team members
- Follow SEO best practices — headings, meta descriptions, internal links, keyword placement
- Write in a way that sounds like a real person talking, not a robot or a textbook
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of professional writing experience (blog posts, web copy, or journalism)
- You write clearly at a 7th-grade reading level — simple words, short sentences
- Basic understanding of on-page SEO (title tags, headers, meta descriptions)
- You can research a topic and write about it accurately without being an expert in it
- Fast turnaround — you can write a quality 1,000-word blog post in a few hours
- Portfolio of published writing samples (doesn't have to be SEO-specific)
Nice to have
- Experience writing for local businesses or service industries
- Knowledge of Google's helpful content guidelines
- Experience with WordPress, Webflow, or other CMS platforms
- Familiarity with keyword research tools
