NAP consistency checker
Your name, address, and phone number should read identically everywhere. This compares your page text, your schema markup, and your Google Business Profile side by side — and shows you every place they disagree.

Why NAP consistency decides local rankings
Google does not hold a single authoritative record of your business. It assembles one from every source it can find — your website, your Google Business Profile, Yelp, the BBB, your Facebook page, your chamber of commerce listing — and works out how confident it can be that they all describe the same company. That confidence is a ranking input.
When a business moves premises, changes phone provider, adds a call tracking number, or has a website rebuilt by someone who retyped the address from memory, those sources drift apart. Nobody notices, because every individual source looks fine on its own. What you see is calls from Google quietly declining over several months with no obvious cause.
The phone number is the strongest identifier
Of the three NAP fields, the phone number is the one Google leans on hardest for matching, because it is unique and rarely shared between businesses. A mismatch between your website and your Google Business Profile is the single most damaging NAP error there is — and the most common, thanks to call tracking.
Schema markup is a separate source
Your LocalBusiness JSON-LD is read independently from your visible page text. If your footer says one thing and your schema says another, you have created a contradiction inside a single page. This tool checks both.
Formatting differences are mostly forgiven
"Street" versus "St", "Suite 4" versus "Ste 4", and "(512) 555-0134" versus "512-555-0134" are normalised by Google and by this tool. Genuinely different values are not.
Fix your own sources before your directory listings
There is no point correcting fifty directories against a website that contradicts itself. Get your site, your schema, and your Google Business Profile agreeing first, then push that same data outward.
Frequently asked questions
What is NAP consistency?+
NAP stands for Name, Address, Phone. NAP consistency means those three details are written identically everywhere they appear — your website, your structured data, your Google Business Profile, and every directory listing. Google uses them to work out that all of those sources describe the same business. When they disagree, that confidence drops, and so does your local ranking.
Why does a small difference matter?+
Because matching is done at scale by machine, not by a person using judgement. "Suite 4" versus "Ste 4" is usually tolerated; a different phone number, a different street, or a business name with keywords stuffed into it is not. The phone number is the strongest identifier of the three, which is why a mismatch there is the most damaging.
What does this tool actually check?+
It reads your homepage and up to four common contact pages, extracts every phone number in the visible text and in tel: links, every street address, city, state and ZIP, and the same fields from your LocalBusiness schema. If you supply your business name and city, it also pulls your live Google Business Profile and compares all of it. Then it lists every disagreement it found, ranked by severity, with the fix.
I use call tracking numbers. Is that a problem?+
It can be. If a tracking number is hard-coded into your HTML, crawlers see a number that does not match your Google Business Profile. Use dynamic number insertion that swaps the number client-side after the page loads, leaving your primary number in the source HTML — or set your primary line as the main number on your profile and use tracking only on paid landing pages.
Is my data stored?+
No. The check runs on request and the result is returned to your browser. Nothing is saved, and no email or account is required.
